Capt. Gabriel Huntley & Thalia Burgess' book
By Zoe Archer
To most people, the realm of magic is the stuff of nursery rhymes and dusty libraries. But for Capt. Gabriel Huntley, it's become quite real and quite dangerous
The vicious attack Capt. Gabriel Huntley witnesses in a dark alley sparks a chain of events that will take him to the ends of the Earth and beyond where what is real and what is imagined become terribly confused. And frankly, Huntley couldn't be more pleased. Intrigue, danger, and a beautiful woman in distress, just what he needs.
In Hotter Water-Raised thousands of miles from England, Thalia Burgess is no typical Victorian lady. A good thing, because a proper lady would have no hope of recovering the priceless magical artifact Thalia is after. Huntley's assistance might come in handy, though she has to keep him in the dark. But this distractingly handsome soldier isn't easy to deceive.
I liked Warrior. It was okay. I didn't fall in love with the story and it was easy to put down if I had to. It took me a week to read when normally if I get into a book I devour it and finish right away.
I really don't have anything negative to say about it. It had action, mystery, alpha male, smart female and romance. All the stuff that I like in a story so I can't quite figure out why I didn't go crazy for it.
I bought the entire series for an amazing bundle deal on Amazon (like the one to the left) and I read all the books back to back. That was a great journey!
I just love books that are apart of series and I loved the chance to read The Blades of the Rose Bundle all one book right after each other. I thought it was a great adventure series and certainly worth the deal for the bundle. I am actually really glad that I didn't have to wait in between the books. If you're anything like me, I am impatient and whiny waiting for the next book to come out so when there is a chance to buy a bundle, I take it!
I'll review each book separately but I recommend grabbing the entire series.
For Warrior though, on it's own, I am awarding 3 hearts.
